Impact Systems

We are committed to designing and manufacturing the safest doors, sidelites, and transoms in the industry utilizing the latest technologies and components available.

Hurricane Andrew devastated Dade County in 1992. Charlie, Katrina and Wilma have proven to be equally as destructive. Andrew’s damage led Dade County to create the most stringent building codes in the U.S. to protect property from damaging gail-force winds. High velocity airborne debris can destroy windows and doors allowing destructive winds to further compromise structures by causing walls and roofs to fail. Protecting the exterior of your home or building with shutters or impact rated windows and doors significantly reduces the chance of damage.

All American Millwork manufactures doors, sidelites and transoms that meet the impact requirements and stringent building codes in Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach counties. These codes are now accepted throughout coastal Florida and are accepted in other oceanfront states including Texas,Mississippi,Alabama,North Carolina,South Carolina, and New York.

Impact Options
Hurricane Impact Glass - No Shutter Required

All American Millwork impact doors, sidelites, and transoms are tested to exceed Miami-Dade County building codes. At Hurricane Engineering and Testing, Inc. (in Miami), our products undergo rigorous air, water, and structural testing to Dade County PA 202 Protocol (TAS 201 & TAS 203). For this testing, doors and windows are impacted numerous times by a 9 pound, 8 foot long 2x4 piece of lumber, fired from a cannon at 50 feet/second. Then, the impacted door or window is subjected to 9000+ positive and negative pressure cycles at design pressure levels of ±75 PSF (140+ mph).

The stringent code requirements of Florida and other coastal regions require that the building envelope be maintained during a hurricane. All elements of the building shell must resist the effects of wind borne debris as well as sustained turbulent winds lasting several hours. Extensive research, following Hurricane Andrew in 1992, showed that a breech of the envelope led to internal pressurization of the building; This effectively doubled the forces on major structural elements such as walls and roofs, leading to catastrophic failure.

All American Millwork has tested with all available technologies. All American offers impact doors with and without glass as well. These doors are for us in areas with hail and hurricane exposure. We are certified following the most stringent building codes in the world; Codes by Miami-Dade county, as well as the Florida building code, and the Texas wind borne debris requirement (These codes are accepted by all other states)

Impact Systems without glass or witth glass (By use of special laminated glass process) are not just for high velocity windborne areas; They also ouble as security doors. Any door with the .090 laminated glass products adds a level of security not found with regular insulated or tempered glass. Laminated glass is 180% more break resistant than tempered glass. This is a burglars's nightmare. Additional Benefits 99% UV Protection prevents fasing of carpets and floors, and noise is reduced by 40%.

Fraud Alert

All American Millwork is aware that some of our Door NOAs have been pirated by the competition. There have been cases that doors under the name of "All American Millwork," have been sold while claiming to be official Impact Approved Doors. We at All American Millwork take this very seriously and are undertaking several measures to prevent this fraud from happening again.
